Andy Naselli's blog features a fascinating take on Bible translation difficulties and sensitivities. He titles the post, "The Importance of Dignified Translations." But I'm not sure that point comes across very well. To me, the post makes the point that it would be best to translate (or paraphrase) so as to let the Word of God say what it says as accurately as possible, regardless of our cultural (or "religious," aka "self-righteous") sensibilities.
